Standard Life Investments was the asset management arm of Standard Life, a major UK-based insurance and financial services group, operating in Hong Kong with SFC licences for dealing in securities and asset management. The Hong Kong entity managed investment portfolios and distributed investment products to institutional and professional clients in the Asia-Pacific region. Following the merger of Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management in 2017 to form Standard Life Aberdeen (later abrdn), the Hong Kong operations were integrated into the combined group. The firm is now effectively inactive as a standalone SFC-licensed entity, having transitioned its activities under the abrdn brand.
